Abstract
요 약
florid osseous dysplasia(FOD)는 악골에 전반적인 방사선 불투과성을 보이는 질환으로
환자는 대개 무증상이나 만성 골수염에 이환될 가능성이 상당히 높다. 치료로는 환자가 무
증상인 경우 아무런 처치가 필요하지 않으나 구강위생을 청결히 하여 치아를 보존하여야 하
며 치과 보철물등의 장착에 장애가 될 경우나 만성 골수염에 이환된 경우 주의 깊은 외과적
처치가 요구된다고 할 수 있다.

Three cases of florid osseous dysplasia of the jaw were investigated. Radiographs
showed sclerotic, globular and ground glass opacities throughout the jaws. Two cases
were asymptomatic but one case failed to heal following extraction of the mandibular
molar and infection complicated the disease. These cases appear to represent the most
exuberant manifestations of this reactive benign fibro-osseous lesion of the jaws.
